Global Regional Report welcomes pitches that help general readers understand how regions and places connect. We are interested in clear, original work grounded in sound geographic reasoning, not a survey of facts without a guiding question.
What to pitch
Propose an evergreen subject involving regional geography, landscapes, borders, routes, or shared resources. A strong pitch names the central question, explains why it matters to a curious reader, and shows the particular connection the piece will make clear. Distinctive, manageable angles are more useful than broad promises to cover a whole region.
Shape and approach
Write in plain English, define specialist terms, and distinguish what a map shows from what it leaves out. We value careful comparisons that explain where they hold and where they do not. Avoid unsupported claims, sweeping statements about populations, and conclusions that require current local information or professional advice.
How to send a proposal
Send proposals through the Contact page, choosing the editorial enquiry option and describing your proposed angle, likely structure, and relevant experience. Please send a pitch rather than a completed article unless the editors request a draft. A proposal is not a promise of publication, and we may ask for changes to sharpen scope or clarify evidence.
